Our Team

You will not find a YMCA anywhere in the world that runs on the efforts of one individual.

This too, is the case with Skye YMCA.

Our full time youth worker manages the ever growing team. Our team is made up of volunteers, each of whom is committed to serve the young people in our local communities. Each volunteer staff member brings a valued set of life skills into the mix.

We have an elected core committee who oversee the on-going youth practice by meeting at least once per month during each year. The balance of the team is made up of weekly volunteers who faithfully serve in many different contexts. Skye YMCA is about equal opportunities for all.

Interested in joining our team?

We have an initial informal interview process for all new volunteers.

The only mandatory ‘requirements’ for becoming a Skye YMCA volunteer are:

  • The successful completion of our application process, including relevant references
  • Acceptance into the Disclosure Scotland PVG scheme for working with young people.

We are always looking for more volunteers!

If you are interested in joining our team please contact our youth worker Mischa Constant via our ‘contact’ section of our website for further information.
